Music and radio plays for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Städtisches Klinikum Dresden

Cables, tubes, flashing lights on monitors, medication as well as the sound and alarms of machines – an intensive care unit can be rather scary. In order to get well children need more than state-of-the-art medicine and care – they need a comfortable and child friendly environment. In order to create such an environment we have given two „Tonieboxen“ and two bluetooth speaker that were donated to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Stätisches Klinikum Dresden. Head nurse Miriam Jörren of the pediatric intensive Care Unit approached us with this wish and we were very happy to fulfill it. During a visit to the ward Franziska and Christian of IntensivZeit e.V. presented these presents to the delighted Head of Pediatrics, Dr. Georg Heubner as well as the responsible consultant Stephan Schmidt and Miriam Jörren. On top of this a first cuddle owl landed at their ward and will surely not be the last of the comforting children’s companions.
